Custom Electronics for BLDC Motor Driven Quadcopter
This project, is an extension of an earlier micro quadcopter project which used small brushed DC motors and low cost electronics. The goal of this project was to design and build more capable hardware for a higher power BLDC motor driven quadcopter. The main flight controller and motor controllers have seen 2 major revisions.
The flight controller is powered by an STM32F4 micro controller with interfaces to sensors, a BMS, ESCs, a transceiver and more. Motor controllers use the STSPIN32F0 which comes from the BLDC series of motor control products by ST. The board has a 3-phase inverter topology for running the BLDC motors.
